I'm not thrilled with using X Windows on my system and Wayland isn't
that widely available yet, So, I'm looking into running the
applications I use most with DirectFB and/or Framebuffer. I'm using
the same version of DirectFB as the one available with Debian Wheezy.
I built SDL with DirectFB support turned on. I also built pdcurses
with SDL as the backend. I noticed an older FLTK port to DirectFB.
I'm investigating what it would take to get the latest version of FLTK
(1.3.3) working with DirectFB.

Would like to know what methods others use to multitask applications
that run with DirectFB. I read some information about SaWMan at the
DirectFB site. Does anyone use it? Does it work with any
applications that use DirectFB as a backend or do applications require
some modifications to work well with it? Can you use a programs like
screen or tmux with DirectFB based applications? Is there any
clipboard functionality availability for DirectFB based applications?

Does anyone have the latest version of Qt compiled and working with
DirectFB? Are there any good reference sites for building Qt with
DirectFB support enabled? Anyone besides me interested in running
FLTK applications or is anyone currently running any FLTK applications
with DirectFB?

Would be very curious about user experience with applications using
any of these GUI libraries and DirectFB and with running/switching
between multiple applications. Any further information in these areas
would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
