[directfb-users] Seeing dfb apps freeze on SMP linux 2.6.34 version

Hi Denis
I am running DFB 1.4.3 lib on SMP linux 2.6.34 and do see a freeze after few hours of run.Sometimes it comes very soon.When a freeze comes then I don't see dfb app utilising cpu any more. Seems as if app has gone to sleep. I check this using Top command. I tried with df_matrix and df_andi both reports same behavior and I am sure others apps may too reflect same. I debugged a lot in last 7 days but all in vain. Could you please give some help on this more. How can I debug it where it can get freeze?Are you aware of any such issues coming on SMP linux?

Can anyone please confirm me whether Directfb1.4.3 is SMP Safe library? We are running this lib on ARM Cortex A9 Dual core system. I still couldn't locate this issue. I tried the test byu disable Kernel Fusion (using 8.1.0) but still see this issue.
Any inputs will help !

Hi,

You are probably not getting any replies because probably nobody else is
having issues.

It works fine here (although with newer versions of DFB, fusion and the
kernel).

Thanks Andre. Okay can you let me know the version of linux, dfb and fusion you are using? I can evaluate to upgrade to that.May I assume you also working on SMP linux?As I am seeing deadlock only in SMP Linux scenario.

Hi,

If upgrading is an option for you, I suggest to do that, and if it still
happens try to debug.

Maybe you can simplify your failure to a simple test case?

(I'm using DFB 1.6 and before that 1.4.12, fusion 8.10.4 and linux
2.6.32.x and 3.4.x) without problems. That is not saying that there is
no problem, only that we have not observed any.
